This course is a continuation of Dramaturgy I (Winter Semester) and offers an in-depth exploration of dramaturgical practice. It focuses on the dramaturgical shaping of performance, the role of the dramaturg within rehearsal processes, and the evolving relationship between dramaturgy and directing. Students will also examine how dramaturgy can be “read” through performance and engage with key theoretical perspectives on directing.

After the successful completion of the course, students will be able to:

• develop a deeper understanding of dramaturgical practice and the role of the dramaturg;
• approach theatrical performance from a dramaturgical perspective;
• critically examine the relationship between dramaturgy and directing;
• further develop their own practical skills in dramaturgical work.
